alt=Bone Density Tests are integral in diagnosing, or determining the potential development of, osteoporosis. While there are many kinds of bone density tests, all of them are fast (the entire process is usually finished within 15 to 20 minutes) and completely painless. Bone Density Test results are usually returned as a series of numbers, a T Score and a Z Score. The T Score will tell you how dense your bones are compared to an average healthy female in their 20’s, when bone density is usually the strongest. The Z Score will tell you the density of your bones compared to the average density of women in your age group. A score of greater than zero means your bones are denser than the compared group, a score of zero means they are equally dense, and a score of less than zero indicates that your bones are less dense than the average of the compared group.
